problem: paint has no gloss or shine

There are a couple of reasons this may happen. The first may be that the paint you are using is two-stage paint. This means that clear is needed to produce the gloss and protect the paint.

Another common cause is the temperature at which the paint was sprayed. 75F is the ideal temperature for spraying automotive paints and clear. If the temp is much lower or higher it will be difficult to produce a nice gloss. If you live in a cold climate it is recommended that you paint inside a well ventilated garage with a respirator. If you live in a hot climate try painting early in the morning or late at night when the sun is not up.
